STREET SIGNS: All Heart in L.A.
I was first drawn to to this piece by Tiphanie Brooke because it reminded me of the Valentine's Day candy hearts with cute little messages written on them. I love how the heads on the left seem to be blowing the Los Angeles-filled hearts over the surface of the wall that sits across from the entrance to Café Stella on Sanborn Avenue in Sunset Junction.

STREET SIGNS - Football Girl
Each piece you see around the city by Austin's Becca Midwood is an original one-of-a-kind painting, and you can always recognize her feminine forms for their trademark vintage styling. Football Girl is located in Sunset Junction, on Sunset Boulevard near Hyperion Avenue in Silver Lake. When Becca was left out of MOCA's Art in the Streets exhibition last year, she responded to the snub in awesome fashion. She wheat-pasted an image of Football Girl in a bathroom stall at the museum's Geffen Contemporary location where the exhibit was being housed.

STREET SIGNS - Space Invader
This Space Invader looks down over Sunset Junction from the side of 3909 West Sunset Boulevard, which was formerly a LaunderLand and Le Barcito/Black Cat. The entire wall used to be covered in graffiti, but now the red-tiled piece by Invader is the sole remnant of the colorful scene. The management team behind the Village Idiot is constructing a new eatery in the space, and it seems like they'll be keeping Space Invader around to protect their parking lot.
